This add on is an absolute life-saver!!! I wish I had learned about it sooner. I consider myself to be a devout anki user but even some days, 1200+ cards is just too much and you need to split it, and that's okay! I wouldn't recommend postponing a full week but a day here and there is totally worth it when there is a lot to do! If I could give this add on 50 stars I would. Thank you so much!!!

Nice, as always!

For users who put bad reviews when something stops working after an update... That is not the most polite way to treat the developer, it is a person who does this on their own, not their employee. If something doesn't work, contact him, but don't mess up his work.

Thanks for creating this for us homo sapien, non-robotic Anki users who can't perfectly review cards every single day for months/years on end. Sometimes we all need a vacation, and when I got back from mine I was about to quite my deck because of the overwhelming overload of cards. Your add-on saved both my deck and sanity. Thank you!
on 1609579343
Absolutely ESSENTIAL for the casual learner (i.e. NO exams, NO deadlines)!
Since I started using this great Add-On regularly, my retention rate has NOT gone down!
So, I strongly suspect that most of us still waste way too much time with unnecessary reviews (TIP: INCREASE Anki's 'Interval Modifier'; and, to compensate for this, lengthen the 'Lapse-Queue', so you can dedicate your valuable rep-time to the REAL problem-cards).

Here's how to use this Add-On AFTER the fact:

* install 'Advanced Browser' (874215009)
* in Anki's Card Browser, sort by 'Last Review'
* now simply count back from today to the date of the last review …
* … and you know by how many days you need to postpone your cards for a seamless re-start of reviewing

Great add on. I haven't used it yet because I am wondering how it will effect Free Weekend and rememorizer. I need to have saturdays clear so I've been using the free weekend to bump many cards to friday and sunday. How will this add on effect that? Will now everything shift one day. and I will have sundays free for a while until the cards continue to try and make Saturday clear? Or can you please explain how this would work?
on 1598144848
Great Add-on. I want to kindly ask, have any conflicts with this add-on been noted or brought up when used with the "Re-memorize" and "Free Weekend- Any Other Day" Add-ons? More so with the Re-memorize add-on. I have provided links to these add-ons below:

Re-Memorize: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/323586997
Free Weekend-Any Other Day: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/742185195

I would love to use this add-on with the other two aforementioned add-ons and I believe other people in this community would appreciate that ability to do this as well.

Love this add-on, but stopped working for me with its latest update. There's been a thread started here: https://anki.tenderapp.com/discussions/add-ons/44384-postpone-cards-add-on-broken-anki-2126

I don't normally rate, but bless you so much man for making this plugin,
on 1589925461

The postponing review cards works, however, it does not postpone the cards that are currently in the learning phase (red cards). Is this intended or is there a way to postpone all of these cards?
on 1589645300
I also wasn't able to postpone all cards through the Tools >> Postpone with the newest update or whatever, but I was able to postpone decks individually which is fine
Comment from author
Would you accept to open a bug report, so I can see what occured and how to fix it ? I don't use this add-on myself and would not notice what breaks
on 1589208931
The perfect add-on for the inevitable day you want to skip just for that one day. Everyone gets busy days, everyone falls victim to unmotivation. Only problem is that it does not work with 2.1.26. Hopefully this should be fixed soon!
on 1588946083
It would normally be working for me but I just recently updated Anki to 2.1.25 and whenever open the postpone option, anki immediately gives me an error message. I've tried disabling other addons and restarting but nothing works. I was hesitant to update at first but I only went ahead since the page said that 2.1.24+ was supported

I want to postpone cards before I even start to learn them, just after I create them. I tried to do this and the number in the "Due" column (in Browse mode) doesn't change. I want this number to become a date, for example 14 days after today. Can I use this add-on to do this? Thanks.
Comment from author
Sorry, but it postpon only "review" card, it does not postpone "new" card. Anyway, new cards don't stack, so this present no interest. You can just set the number of new card to see to 0 if you don't want to see a new card
on 1586304129
Can't "postpone" a whole deck; meaning if you download a pre-made deck (which I'm assuming everyone is) then you have to break the deck down into its primary, secondary, and tertiary decks etc. and then individually click the icon and "Postpone" each individual minute deck. Takes forever.
Comment from author
That's entirely false. If you just read the manual, on https://github.com/Arthur-Milchior/anki-postpone-reviews (link is given in this page) you'll see there is a button to postpone every single cards.

I just read your reply of the review on 02/12/2020. If it makes you feel any better, I used it because I just came down with a massive case of the flu and the next 3 days probably will either be sleeping or being massively groggy. So, it does have an better use then just taking a vacation.
Comment from author
Thank you for wanting to make me feel better. I find it quite funny given that you are the one with the flu.
My blog post (in French only right now) consider other case than holidays. I wanted my answer here to be short.

While I do not know how being sick affect learning, my main point remains. Postponing increase the forgetting risk, and thus the time you need to spend on those cards. By postponing a lot of card, you risk to forget the cards you should have reviewed when you are sick, but also the cards you should have reviewed the first days after you get well again.
I do agree that it's unfair that our memory does not accept excuse, and that I know no country with an "extra sick day" so that you can take the time to do all personal stuff that should have been done before going back to work. But that still means I consider this feature should not be presented as a normal part of anki
on 1581481722
How is this not in Anki core!? Took some time off and had an insurmountable backlog. This is exactly what I was looking for!
Comment from author
Because that add-on totally defeats anki's main purpose. Anki is able to deal with cards being late and adapt the new intervals to it. But you should still revew all cards as soon as possible before forgetting them. So the use of this add-on is not to be encouraged. It's only good if it helps you not to quit Anki. It's a last resort and something that should be used regularly.
Which makes me, the add-on creator, quite sad that it has been downloaded seven thousand times.
on 1578712345
super useful for personal decks when last-minute school/life stuff means you got to miss a day. works really well and is super easy to use, though I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that specific cards refuse to work with it, I am currently trying to figure out why but otherwise it is a big thumbs up from me.
Comment from author

Can you please post a bug report on github, so we can discuss it. I don't understand how it is possible. But I don't know what kind of card it is (if it's new/in learning, then it's normal that this add-on does not affect it). And I don't know how you did apply it (through main window or through card browser)
on 1573068787
Works great, and very straight forward. Just log into 2.1 and postpone if you are still using 2.0... won't mess anything up when you go back to 2.0.
on 1572959861
The best add-on ever. But when I postpone 2 or more days, not only deadlines but also intervals become longer. So when I want to postpone 3 days, I repeat to postpone 1 day 3 times. Is there any solutions? I use MacBook.

P.S. Thank you very much for answering my question about intervals. I am not good at English and I didn't understand the statement in the add-on manager. But finally I understand it and solved it by changing interval coefficient. You’ve really helped me out here.

Can you please post on github, so it's easier to have a discussion.
The answer to your question is in the add-ons's configuration documentation. It should open when you want to configure the add-on through the add-on manager. It's on:

on 1566355097
This is an amazing add-on. I've been hoping for something like this for a while now.

However, is there a way to apply this to only certain decks - or is it possible for you to expand the functionality to do that?
Comment from author
Read the README page. You'll see you can select anything in the browser and postpone only those cards
on 1565258936
This is a useful add-on.

There is another add-on by the original creator with a different but related/similar purpose: 'Change each interval by some fixed percent', https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1869734310 . This was discussed on reddit, https://www.reddit.com/r/Anki/comments/cc647d/is_there_a_way_to_reduce_the_delay_of_all_the/

Can someone PLEASE create this for 2.0?

You can always install 2.1 on a computer, postpone cards, sync, and go back to your old 2.0 version

I messed up and added days to a deck that I shouldn't have (for my final exam in 2 days), freaked out, commented about it on github, a contributor **immediately** worked on a fix (allowed to adding negative days to return cards to their schedule before I messed up), and the author added it in ASAP. Best and fastest customer service / troubleshoot i've ever seen 😂😂10/10
