Description

Deck based on the manga Yotsuba. It contains all the sentences from the first 2 volumes (14 chapters of Yotsuba) with a screenshot of the panel. There are also the full pages in japanese and english next to eacher other, to give context if necessary. Names are put in brackets for more accurate results with Morphman. I also "corrected" some slangs to make it easier to read. Here's how the card style works with cards from different decks: CONTENT - Japanese sentences (official) with furigana. - Screenshot of japanese dialogue - English sentences (taken from Bilingual Manga). - Japanese and english pictures side by side (official). - Definition for each word THE DECK - The Front card will display the sentence, and a screenshot of the dialogue under it. Putting your mouse over the sencence will display the furigana. You can also display the tags on the bottom that way. If it's a manga deck you can click on the the full pages button to display both japanese and english pages, giving more context. - The Back card will display the translation. Keep in mind it's not always a direct translation of the japanese sentence. The website ichi.moe is directly embedded in the card style, and will decompose the sentence, giving the definition for each word. - The cards are ordered chronologically in the default field "ID". - Dont forget the necessary Japanese Support add-on. - Deck works on phone and anki-web too. HOW TO USE - I use this card template with the Morphman add-on. You can use the deck without it. Fields will only appear on the card if they are filled out. - Set up Morphman Preferences Use the "Expression" field for your set-up. The field for focus morph is named "Morph" and is already in the card template. Just make sure your Morphman preferences match you the name of your card style and the exact names of the fields. Check the boxes for omitting words between brackets for more accurate results. Morphman will sort your cards based on your knowledge. You will see first cards containing only one word that you don't know. That word is automatically written in the "Morph" Field. To add definitions you can use another add-on, or just copy paste from the embedded website. You can edit that field during reviews with this edit add-on. - The deck includes a Kanji dictionary pop-up. Click on any kanji in the card to display the informations. You can edit which info you'd like or not in the card style, as seen on the gif from this page. You need to download my kanji deck, to have the stroke order animated gifs. If you want to display / hide the sound button on the card, follow the same method. If you want to change the size of the pictures, just change the zoom % in the template. I've written instructions in the card template so you can know which part changes what and simply modify lot of things even if you don't know any css or html. HOW TO UPDATE If there is one, any update regarding the deck, probably the card style, will be posted in this folder. If I ever do a third volume it will be a seperate deck as this one is close to the size limit. HISTORY V6 - 12/12/2020 Volume 2 added (7 more chapters) Screenshot for every panel added Card Style updated Kanji Pop up Dictionary updated V5 - 19/08/2020 Chapter 6 and 7 added. Extremely well-done and professionally-made deck to read alongside the japanese version of Yotsuba. Hopefully the author will keep releasing chapters in this format.

UPDATE: Now with the addition of Volume 2, this was the deck that finally made me decide to pull the trigger and order both volumes from Amazon Japan in order to go over them. Excellent resource, perfect for immersion and highly recommended.

For every new update this deck gets, I'll buy the corresponding Japanese volume to continue on my studies. Thank you so much to the author for this!
Comment from author
"professionally-made deck" is nice to read so thank you.

I will update it, but I make decks as I study, and I'm focusing on grammar or anime decks rather than manga right now.

In the meantime, you could always go the source at https://bilingualmanga.com/. They have more than 30 chapters for Yotsuba and many other manga to study.

UPDATE: the fact that you consider this deck as an aid and not a replacement for the books makes me happy. I wasn't looking forward to make the next volumes, but this kind of comment make me reconsider.

Shows the same ichi.moe embed twice on the back card and has "unknown field /Screenshot" error under them.
Also, images on the back card are small-ish and I can't figure out how to scale them up.
Comment from author
Hi !
I redownloaded the deck to check and the ichi.moe is only shown once.
I use the same card template, to fit manga, anime, or games, so there's a lot of conditional formating.
Is it possible that by trying to change the size of the pictures you changed the card template ?
The "unknown field /Screenshot" problem: that's because the field Screenshot needs two brackets, like so: {{Screenshot}}, you probably erased the first one: {Screenshot}}.

I've reuploaded the deck, so the new card template is updated anyway, and you shouldn't have any problem.
As for the pictures, if you want to zoom in, don't touch the front or back template.
Check the two lines in styling (middle box):
.ScanJ {width: auto; height: auto; zoom: 125%; padding: 5px 0px 5px 0px}
.ScanE {width: auto; height: auto; zoom: 125%; padding: 5px 0px 5px 0px}
Change the zoom percentage 125% to the one you like. ScanJ stands for japanese page, and ScanE for english.
It's explained in the description on this page: "- If you want to change the picture size, just change the zoom % in the template. "

If you still have any issues, contact me on reddit, I'll help you out: https://www.reddit.com/user/Jo-Mako/.

Awesome deck! My only complaint is that a few of the furigana are wrong (at least early-on). It will show one thing in the anki note, but a different reading in the manga images below.
Comment from author
Thanks for noticing. The furigana are generated automatically with the japanese add-on, and there can be some errors, so use with caution. Generally, furigana will be wrong for character's names or 何, which can be read なん but always has なに has furigana because of the add-on.

I haven't touched this deck in a while but when I'll update with new chapters, I'll check the readings as well. Ichi.moe website shouldn't have any errors though, so when in doubt, use ichi.moe.
