Quantified Self add-on - export your review log - v0.2

<10kB. Updated 2017-02-02. Only supports Anki 2.0.

Description

Ever wondered whether you remember better when you review in the morning or in the evening? What’s the impact of your caffeine intake, your stress level, your vacations? If you use Anki consistently, you have a treasure trove of cognitive performance data in your revision history. This add-on lets you export it in a convenient CSV format for analysis in eg. Excel or LibreOffice pivot tables, or in Plot.ly. usage After installing the add-on, you will get a new item in your “Tools” menu: It will export a CSV file, as seen below. Each line represents a sequence of 2 consecutive reviews of the same card. Please note that not every review appears in the list. The last review on each card is left out. That’s because you can’t tell how effective a given review was until you test your memory on the following review. Examples The following pivot charts were made with my own review history (260 000 data points over 6 years). Other uses Things can get really interesting if you also record data on your life habits, and link the two datasets. This could allow you to test all kinds of hypotheses, eg: do aerobic exercise, music, lack of sleep, nootropics, or blood sugar have an observable impact on how well you record long-term memory? Feedback If you actually use this add-on, please by all means comment below or on the Anki Quantified Self thread. We're few enough that every opinion is of interest. If you meet issues, please send me an email at thomas.tempe@alysse.org. If you just write a comment below, I can't even inform you when the issue is fixed; and a single bad rating has a significant impact on an add-on's credibility. About the code There are further options in the source code, to: To modify them, go to Tools->Add-ons->Quantified self->Edit, then save and restart Anki.

Could someone make a chart template to visualize the data?

PS: Why does this have 6 green thumbs but only 3 comments?

Anki 2.1 conversion: save as utf8 `addons21/Quantified_Self_add-on_-_export_your_review_log_-_v02/__init__.py`, `from PyQt5 import QtGui` `filename, retFilter = QFileDialog.getSaveFileName(None, "Export memorization performance history", os.path.join("..", "..", "..", "RevisionHistory.csv"), "Comma-separated values (*.csv)")` `fd = open(filename, "w", newline='')`
