A collection of Italian sentences, sorted from easiest to hardest. ============ Here's how this deck was made: 1) I grabbed a list with the 5000 most frequently used Italian words -- sorted from the most frequently used, to the least. 2) I grabbed 60 000 translated Italian sentences from the internet 3) I wrote a program that assigns a Frequency Rank Number to each word from every sentence, this Frequency Rank Number based on the list mentioned on item "1)" 4) This program calculates the average value of the all the words' Frequency Rank Numbers. And assigns this value to the sentence. The result is that if a sentence contains advanced words, the sentence will have a high Average Frequency Rank Number. If a sentence contains only beginner words, the AFRN will be low. 5) Finally, I sorted the sentences: from the ones with the lowest AFRN, to the highest. The end result is that this deck begins with very, very simple sentences, and new words get slowly introduced as you progress. If it sounds complicated to you, here's in a nutshell: The 15 000 Italian sentences from this deck are sorted from easiest to hardest, so they are ideal for beginners. ============ If some sentences are too easy for you, just delete them (press Delete button on your keyboard) until a more challenging one comes up. The following Anki add-on adds a Replay button to the Computer Version of Anki, and is recommended for this deck: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/498789867 ============ If this deck is useful to you, please rate it!~ frequencylists.blogspot.com.br ============ - 2021 Update - - Included all 3 parts in this same deck. - Included a new experimental version of this deck, that I think is a lot better.

I love

This deck is super bugged. It randomly had another card type that I made myself. It confused me really bad and cost me a lot of time to fix.

Hey, nice work! Would be interesting to know, how you got all the translated example sentences. I don't find anything through a simple google research. Maybe you can help me with this.
on 1650010366
Many thanks for this great work. Given that this is a shared deck (consisting of three different ones), setting up things properly may take some time (e.g., adding reversed cards English -> Italian). But hey, all the beautiful content is there and customizing it is up to the user :-)

A very good way to reach fluency, a lot better than simply studying words

I bought 2 subscriptions (ItalianPod101 and Lingua) for my Italian. This deck is at least as useful as these subscriptions.

Thank you very much. I'm learning really fast with this deck.

Hi!! This deck is great, didn't you use to have a part 2??:) I can't find it anywhereee
Comment from author
In the last update of this deck (in June of 2021), I simply decided to include all 3 parts on this same deck.

Thank you so much

Love this deck! I use it as a complement to Pimsleur Italian.
on 1624025887
This is a good deck, really helps solidify the core sentences. I’m just a bit worried I have downloaded the right part though after reading the reviews on this page. The first sentence I got was “He has a lot to think about” is that meant to be the first one... seems like that would be a more advanced sentence for later on?

Thank you so much for the effort you have put into this though
on 1622422043
phenomenal deck - pure genius and highly helpful
on 1622232752
This deck is awesome, but the name is a little bit misleading. There is "only" 5000 sentences in each deck. Which are more than enough!

This is indeed part one. When you download it will say part 2, but that is incorrect.
on 1620579466
NOTE TO CREATOR: As many have noted, your "part 1" file is actually part 2, and "part 2" is actually part 3. You have not provided Part 1.

This is a big shame, because you put a lot of work into this, and it would be very useful for beginners like myself!

PLEASE fix this mistake! Please provide Part 1! Thank you :)

I downloaded this anki but it didn't imported in ankidroid!

I want to rate this positive because I appreciate the effort. But wow never actually found part 1! Part 1 and Part 2 both seem to be the same Part 2 sets. and part 3 is it's own. I've searched everything that says 15000 in the title and it's just the same ones that appear. I've tried over 5 times to download each file, separately, but I still only who 2 decks.
So author, if you could please double check and maybe list the names of exactly the 3 sets to look for? I really think the ones listed as Parts 1 and Parts 2 are the same.

I'm Italian. It seems an awesome deck after a quick scroll. To the author, the first sample card showed in this page is wrong. "Dovrebbe" is translated "he should" or "he must" in case the speaker is making a hypothesis. Definetly can't be translated with "you" person.
on 1608411009
Well thought ! Very close from what I was looking for and in such a way, better !
on 1607869824
An amazing tool to study Italian! Thank you for your hard work and for sharing with us. The written words and audio all transferred to my deck easily.
on 1605973810
I just read that there was a naming error and thats why it says part 2 instead of part 1. When I download Part 2, will it have the same name?

Thank you so much for pulling this deck together! I was in panic mode when Tiny Cards announced it was getting rid of the app. This is exactly what I needed and is so much better than the Tiny Cards that I was using!!
I would like to be able to listen to the audio after the meaning is displayed - Can you show me how to do that or is it too difficult?
Comment from author
1. Open the deck
2. Click edit
3. Click 'cards'
4. Remove {{audio}} from the box called Front Template
5. write {{audio}} in the beginning of the box called Back Template
on 1592171548
Wow that's really awesome! I wasn't expecting such a great deck. Thank you very much!
But where is the part 1?
on 1590931123
Looks great but the download seems to be for part 2 and not part 1?
Do you have a link for where I could download the part 1? i.e. first 5,000 sentences.
Thanks :)

Very nice and very useful job. Tank you.

I'd like to customize the search dictionary part, but I can't do what I'd like to. Could you help me?
I'd like to be able to call several dictionaries. But if I copy the code concerned, I don't get what I want. It's usable but could be better.
Let's say I want to be able to call the en/wiktionary and the it/wiktionary, when I (too) simply paste the code it doubles the sentence but word by word, and I'd like sentence by sentence.
Example: for "Tom non beve mai birra a casa"
I get "Tom Tom non non beve beve mai mai birra birra a a casa casa" (first word linked to the first dictionary, second word linked to the second dictionary)
I'd prefer to have "Tom non beve mai birra a casa Tom non beve mai birra a casa" (first sentence linked to the first dictionary, second sentence linked to the second dictionary).
With more dictionaries (and line break between each dictionary) the second solution is far better.

Is it complicated to modify to get this ? Thank you.

Edit after your answer:
GREAT!!! Works perfectly. And now I understand (well, I think:) how to customize the code if needed. Thank you, really.

Fantastic, thank you very much! This deck is particularly useful for me. With your hint below, I have succeeded in generating the reverse cards from part 1 and part 2. If you give permission (copyright), I can upload the duplicated version.

Great effort! It's helpful to me. Know it was a lot of work involved.

This Anki deck has problems. Looks like the deck for the first 5000 words was never uploaded to AnkiWeb. I went to the authors blog and the pastebin referenced there contains sentences which were not included in these decks. Part 1 and part 2 combined are only 10000 sentences, not 15000. I don't know how to convert the pastebin text to a deck or I would create the deck myself. Deck also contains multiple repeated sentences which I was able to delete with the Merge Duplicates plugin.

Good deck! I really appreciate the tremendous effort that must have gone into this. I like the audio files and the dictionary links.

Just a few remarks. To become a fluent speaker, I believe it is better to reverse the default cards (i.e., from Italian-to-English to English-to-Italian). There are thousands of near-duplicates that bump up the number of total notes to 10k, but that have little added value. An English sentence (e.g., "Can you give me this one, please?") can have up to 12 different Italian translations, by combining every possible variant of "you" (singular informal/formal, plural), "this one" (questo/questa, i.e. masculine or feminine) and "please" (per favore/per piacere). This becomes tedious and defeats the purpose of Anki's active recall and spaced repetition. Personally I prefer a couple thousand truely different sentences to 10k almost identical ones.

This deck is so awesome! I've searched through a lot of language learning resources online and this is by far on of my favourites :)
on 1573256563
Great job. Is there an updated way to reverse the deck? When I hit the flip button all I get is an error message "Anki couldn't find the line between the question and answer". The youtube vid from 2013 is outdated.
Comment from author
Just type what you want in the front and back of the card.

If you want just the Italian sentence in the front, find the box called "Front" and type on it: {{sentence}}
If you want just the English translation in the back, find the box called "Back" and type on it: {{english translation}}
I hope that answered your question.
on 1571676512
Thanks looks great!! Part1 appears as pt2 and pt2 as pt3? what 's with that?
Comment from author
It's just a naming error that I can't fix because of the nature of Anki... ^^ (The only way to fix it, is to delete the deck and upload it again — but then I'd lose the reviews and ratings.)

But this is part one, and the other is part two.
on 1569443941
This is very useful; much better than learning words in isolation. In addition, there are links to Wikipedia that adds so much to the deck! You can find usage notes, conjugations, and synonyms and antonyms to words used in the sentences. It's like having a whole lesson in each sentence. Thanks for sharing this deck. It's great.
on 1566216847
Thanks for making this! Seems like an excellent way for a beginner like me to improve both vocabulary and grammar.
on 1564278944
I like this. Thank you so much for this deck! However, am I incorrect that the cards are only Italian -> English? Does anyone know a simple way to create a card in the reverse direction?

Hi! See this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnbKwHEQ1mA&yt:cc=on
on 1562978474
Great. I think this is a game changer. There is a gap in the market for which this approach fills really well for those of us beyond beginner, but not quite intermediate. This is a crucial phase, were continued hard work at expanding vocab becomes tedious. Your approach has revitalised me. Thank you!
on 1559245746
Im confused. How do you order it within Anki so that it comes up with the easiest first?
on 1558459626
The sentences are well made but some translations are quite relative and can confuse begginers , its clear that there is effort put into it though , just being honest
Comment from author
Thanks for being polite.

I plan to update this deck to use a more reliable body of sentences, though ^^

I have just started using this deck, but i can already say it is very inventive informative! The sentences are a bit off the trodden paths of classic textbook examples, which puts a nice twist to learning!
Thanks for the troubles you went through to generate this!
