Korgan's 2000 most common German words with audio

7.91MB. 2005 audio & 0 images. Updated 2015-08-03.

Description

There are a few other word lists on Anki that use word frequency. The advantage of this deck over others is the source of my words. I used hundreds of subtitle files from German movies, as well as from the usual sources such as books, the idea being that the vocabulary in this deck will contain words that are more likely to be used in conversation, and not just literary words. This is a work in progress. Contact me if you see any mistakes, and I'll update it asap. :)

Cards are customizable! When this deck is imported into the desktop program, cards will appear as the deck author has made them. If you'd like to customize what appears on the front and back of a card, you can do so by clicking the Edit button, and then clicking the Cards button.

I like this deck, but I agree with what everyone else has said. I also think it's worth noting that each word has a duplicate "card." So if your goal is to learn 20 words a day, you need to set options for this deck to 40 cards per day.

Missing gender, odd word ordering

Appreciate the work put in to assemble this list, but the absence of word gender is a major problem.

Plus, the word ordering seems odd. Is Hure (whore) really one of the 2000 most common words I need to learn early on? It's among the first 20 or so words that appear.

Very good deck

This deck is really good! The only downside however is that it doenst tell whether a word is masculine or feminine, which is something pretty important for using the correct prepositions. It does however, in my opinion, remain a very good deck!

Awesome- this is how an Anki deck should be developed !

This is brilliant. Read the description of how it was made from the frequency list of German video subtitles. Congratulations and keep up the great work!
