Description

Deprecated in favor of this superior list: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1576801309 Most kanji have a combination of semantic radicals and phonetic components. These are the 92 mostly or completely regular phonetic components from the original Joyo (1,945) along with their Chinese readings, based on this analysis. I suggest that rather than deliberately studying readings for each kanji, you learn them incidentally through words, but it's worthwhile to supplement the process with this small but far-reaching list. Look for these phonetic components on the right side of kanji. For more information and usage recommendations see here.
