Compares a typed in answer with the correct answer as a number. When the answer you want to learn is a number, this colors the answer in yellow when it was close to the original answer. Example: The correct answer is “125”, you know that it's close to 100 and type “100”. The original behavior is to compare character by character, and give a green “1” and read “00”. With this add-on, the whole answer would be yellow, as it is somewhat close to the correct answer. On the other hand, if you typed “12” as the answer, with the original behavior, you would get “12” in green and “5” in red, showing more green, even though the answer is farther from the correct one than the “100”. With this add-on the 12 would be completely red. To use, the name of the answer field (the “{{type:NN}}” bit) must contain the Word “Scalar”. (E.g. “Area_Scalar” or “Inhabitants_Scalar” for a geography deck or “Atomic_Mass_Scalar” for a chemistry deck.) For fields without “Scalar” in the name the behavior stays the same, doing the character-by-character comparison. To change the factor what counts as “close enough” change the “pass_factor” in the .py source file. More information, links to report issues &c. can be found at my github site. Latest update (2013-06-16): Bring it more in line with Anki ≥2.0.9. Please update your Anki if you are using an older (≤ 2.0.8) version. (Or get an older version of this add-on from github.) Internal simplification.

As add-ons are programs downloaded from the internet, they are potentially malicious. You should only download add-ons you trust.

This add-on previously supported Anki 2.0. You can download the last version supporting 2.0 here. As Anki 2.0 has been discontinued, no support is available for this version.
