A slightly scuffed deck of National Standard Mahjong (国标麻将 guóbiāo májiàng) terms. Some Riichi and Hong Kong Old Style terms are included, but the central focus is National Standard Mahjong. To this end, Simplified Chinese characters (简体字 jiǎntǐzì) are used.
Here's what you're getting:
- Terms from a variety of sources (Pleco, mahjong.wikidot, mahjongjoy, McGill's glossary)
- AwesomeTTS voice lines for sound association.
- Includes all hand combinations under National Standard Mahjong, plus points, which very much contributes to the size.
- Example images from mahjong.wikidot are included with hand combinations.
There are some caveats, though:
- Being a Chinese-based game, Mahjong terms will vary significantly by region and game style. In other words, a player from Shanghai will not use the same terms or rules as a player from Hunan or Guangzhou. Always make sure to check with a native speaker!
- Rules are not a massive focus, so some descriptions about hand combination applicability (eg. Non-Repeat Principle) are excluded.
- There are times where I include Traditional Chinese characters (繁体字 fántǐzì), usually because it was included with a given source. Given the way AwesomeTTS works, this may result in repeated audio, but it shouldn't cause much discomfort.

I will very likely update this in the future. If you have issues or want something added (again, this is scuffed), feel free to contact me at Chippy2001@live.co.uk. Just please be nice!!

At this time, it is not possible to add shared decks directly to your
AnkiWeb account - they need to be added from the desktop then synchronized
to AnkiWeb.
