After the file is downloaded, double-click on it to open it in the desktop program.
At this time, it is not possible to add shared decks directly to your AnkiWeb account - they need to be added from the desktop then synchronized to AnkiWeb.
Let me tell how I use them:
First I removed every item from the deck that was shorter than some 12 or 15 characters, I don't remember. There is a regex (which I asked on the anki's irc channel) I could input in the anki program for it to filter them out and then save the deck.
Then I use them on my ankidroid in so that on the front I have the audio and the picture only, and on the backside I have it in japanese, english and the moe translation.
For more convenient use I have also set some swipe gestures for doing all the common actions. I replay the audio by tapping somewhere on the leftside of the screen, and showing the answer is tapping on the right side of the screen. If I swipe to the right, I will suspend (aka remove) the card from the deck. This I use if it's easy and I get it on the first try when it appears or so. Then when back is visible if I swipe to left from middle or bottom area it's the "good" answer, double tapping is "easy" and swiping left from the top third area is "again". I guess that's about all I use.
These gestures are important for convenience since I do it while I'm out on a stroll so I can review cards without looking at the phone if I know the answer etc easily.
The only downside is that on AnkiDroid the moe website is kind of not optimized to this sized screen I guess since if I want to check some dictionary glossing of some of the words, I have to scroll a lot, there is a lot of white space between each word and it takes time to scroll to the word I'm looking for. Still overall.. this is the best method I have found for me to study japanese at my current level so this is a small downside.
I will definitely go through sind more of these Ghibli decks just for fun :)
I've made almost all the Ghibili movies but I only publish some on Anki Web.
You can find all of them on this spreadhseet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ukDIWSkh_xvpppPbgs1nUR2kaEwFaWlsJgZUlb9LuTs/edit?ts=60558b43#gid=822742203
I've made a 100 and they're all free.
