Front Mechanism of action of loop diuretics?
Back They are secreted into the filtrate through drug transporters OAT1, OAT4 and MRP4. \n\n\nThey inhibit the Na+/K+/2Cl symporter (NKCC2) in the ascending limb of Henle. This symporter creates the cortico–medullary osmotic gradient. Loop diuretics makes it smaller, and therefore the water reabs decreases in the descending loop and collecting ducts.
Front Which drugs are included in class III and what are their indications?
Back Amiodarone and dronedarone. Used in supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias.
Front How are the pharmacokinetics of amiodarone?
Back It's very lipophilic, so it accumulates in tissues and has a half–life of 1 month.
