Description
الحمد الله والصلاة والسلام علي رسول الله وآله وصحبه أجمعين ومن والاه
This deck is not for beginners. To study this deck, you should have experience on studying other decks on anki before, have basic knowledge of sarf, and have a vocabulary between beginner and intermediate.
This deck does not actually focus on word meanings, rather, this deck focuses on purifying and correcting the toungue. Actually many of us know arabic grammar, and even know many words, but when speaking, reading or writing, we cannot figure out the forms of the words although we know their meanings.
For example, خطر لي الخاطر
The idea came to me.
The meaning is clear. But how do I read it? Do I say خَطَرَ or do I say خَطِرَ? Is it from باب فتح or جلس or سمع or نصر or حسب?
I had read Ibn Hisham for 1 year to develop my vocabulary. But although I had learnt meanings of a lot of words, I still could not speak properly. Firstly, because I could not remember the verb categories or أبواب of the first forms, and also in case of many nouns, because they have scarce uniformity in their forms. Thus, I could not use them properly although I could get a picture of what they meant. Secondly, because I could not remember the meanings of so many individual words.
So consequently, I decided on developing a vocabulary deck, which unlike the others I had used before, would be much more detailed, encompassing a huge range of words, and specially, focus on the حركات, to purify the toungue.
So the deck would teach, خُطَّة means plan, while خِطَّة means land.
So the reader will start to read, write and speak like a master in sha Allah.
But as my work progressed, I realized that it is not really wise and efficient to build such a deck. If you want to specify every single word, even excluding general forms like فاعل and مفعول and فعّل and أفعل and استفعل, it would still require thousands of cards in one deck. It would require a huge amount of time to build, and also a huge amount of time to study it.
So eventually, I decided to work on the verb roots only, that is, the first form of the verbs, on the وزن فَعَلَ. Actually, you know, if you know the root, you know what a certain derivation from it should mean, in general.
This implies that, if you can have a grasp of the verb roots and their usual أبواب, and their variating verbal nouns, you automatically get a comprehending grasp on their derivations.
And since the verbal nouns themselves constitute a large portion of the vocabulary, learning them implicitly teaches you more words.
So what I did in the deck was, I kept only verb roots on the front side, without any حركات. And on the back side I kept the أبواب, that is, of the first forms, and their verbal nouns.
This deck is to be used in conjunction with the Hans Wehr dictionary which is available on playstore, and it has been developed based on it too.
So if you do not know the meaning of a verb you encounter in the deck, you go to Hans Wehr and learn the meaning and keep it in mind. The next time you see the verb, you know the meaning, so you check the back side to see if you remember the باب or not. The meaning is actually comparatively much easier to remember, it is only the variating أبواب that complicate it. But if you cannot remember the meaning again, you simply revise it from Hans Wehr.
This way, I saved my time, and you save yours in sha Allah.
In many cases, the same verb root has different sorts of meanings associated with different أبواب. In such cases, brief meanings have been mentioned below the respective أبواب to facilitate the distinction and memorization.
Still, confusion might arise in some cases, specially, as the dictionary Hans Wehr itself made certain things ambiguous in some places. Refer to the dictionary if you face any confusion.
Actually, perfection of such a vast thing is difficult. So you have to put your own effort to perfect your own part Allah willing. This deck will not teach you everything, although it might be much more efficient and clever Allah willing. Hans Wehr is just a regular use dictionary, arabic is much more detailed. In the end, you have to keep walking on your own path biiznillah.
I am sorry that the deck contains only 300 cards, or 300 verb roots. I have not finished studying it yet, so I am not sure if any mistake needs to be rectified. But hopefully, in sha Allah, it is more or less okay.
Till this moment, 25/09/2020, I have studied 60 cards from the deck. And wallahi, I can see the difference, alhamdulillah.
You should note one thing, every card actually teaches you about 3 words approximately. Moreover, as other forms derive from the root, these 300 cards do not only teach you 900 words, they actually develop within you a partial command over thousands of other verbs and nouns, deriving from these 300 roots.
I have a list of about 1600 verb roots. But due to dire scarcity of time, only 300 cards have been made from them. There are still 1300 roots left.
I will develop newer decks later on in sha Allah. Either I will do it myself when I manage small amounts of time, little by little. Or I will cooperate with anyone interested in contributing to this project, if he finds it beneficial and useful.
Any brother is welcome to contribute if he is sure about his dedication Allah willing. If you feel that the project is helpful and you wish to work on the project, you can mail me and we will most likely engage on whatsapp.

At this time, it is not possible to add shared decks directly to your AnkiWeb account - they need to be added from the desktop then synchronized to AnkiWeb.
