This is a set of Arabic Conjugation cards that I put together. They relate only to Form I verbs.
They are broken into various subfolders:
a) Sound Verbs (The “Normal” or “Easy” verbs to conjugate)
b) Germinate Verbs (Verbs with double root letters)
c) Assimilated Verbs (Verbs where waaw or yaa is the first root letter)
There are also two additional subfolders:
d) Hollow verbs (Verbs where waaw or yaa is the second root letter)
e) Defective Verbs (Verbs where waaw or yaa is as the last root letter)
These two subfolders are divided into two sub-subfolders: 1) Normal; and 2) Odd. As most are probably aware, there are different rules for different types of Hollow and Defective Form I verbs – hence the further partition and sub-subfolders.
The cards cover words in all major tenses – past, presence, subjunctive and jussive.
They also cover every major person – First person (singular and plural), Second (feminine and masculine) (singular, dual and plural) and Third (feminine and masculine) (singular, dual and plural).
The card will present as a “question” the verb, the past/present key vowels, the type of verb, the tense and the person. For example,
وَجَدَ
Form I (a/i); Assimilated Verb
Past Tense
أنتما
The “answer” is the verb correctly conjugated given all the information above. For example,
وَجَدْتُمَا
It is – of course – up to the reviewer, but I actually recommend reviewing the cards by each individual subfolder (or sub-subfolder) initially to get the hang of each set of verb types. Then I would recommend reviewing all the cards randomly
I created the cards from various sources – both books and electronic sources. It is inevitable that I (or someone else!) made mistakes along the way. Thus, if something seems intrinsically “wrong” – it might well be! I welcome any all comments you have and will try to correct any errors anyone identifies.
Good luck in your endeavors -- I hope these help people pursuing their language studies!
