Answer Key Cascade

<10kB. Updated 2012-08-23.

Description

Name: Answer Key Cascade Filename: Answer_Key_Cascade.py Version: 0.5 Author: Kenishi Desc: By default Anki 2 now reduces the button count depending on card age. Cards can now have anywhere from 2 to 4 buttons max depending on age. Answering a card with 2 buttons requires you to press 1 or 2 if you are using hotkeys. This can interfere with review speed if you don't realize its 2 buttons and answer 3/4. This add-on makes it so answering with a higher ease than possible will answer with the actual highest. *Example* 2 Button: You press '4' addon presses '2' Thanks to ospalh (https://github.com/ospalh) for simpler design idea. Version 0.5 (2012/08/22): Simpler design, fewer bugs Version 0.4 (2012/06/23): Fixed bug with key presses after finished reviewing Version 0.3 (2012/06/22): Fixed the bug with hotkeys stopping working on answer page. Updated support page. Version 0.2 (2012/06/10): Fixed potential bug Version 0.1 (2012/06/10): Initial Release Report bugs at https://github.com/Kenishi/Answer-Key-Cascade

By far my favorite add-on - I review cards for a fixed number of minutes every day and after finding this, my daily amount of reviews is up 25%. Without this plug-in, way too much attention is diverted to checking the number of answer buttons for each card and pressing accordingly.

I pressed the wrong button out of habit every now and then. Well, not anymore :)

Well, if you press 4 or 3 when the relevant button isn't available, it goes down a level, as stated. Handy to avoid the annoyance of having to answer twice and to avoid having to watch whether the card is in learning or review in order to get it right the first time.

I have not noticed any other shortcut keys stop working—it's possible that that reviewer simply pressed capslock by mistake. (I looked at the code and there's nothing that would be likely to cause that, so it's almost certainly unrelated.) I'm on Linux Mint, though.

Works very well

The plugin works the way it should, no issues at all.
